Ryan murder case: CBI seeks fingerprints of juvenile

Juvenile Justice Board extends judicial custody of the juvenile till December 6

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday moved an application before the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) seeking fingerprints of the juvenile delinquent in the Ryan International school murder case.

The JJB, meanwhile, extended the judicial custody of the juvenile till December 6. He was produced before the court after his judicial custody had ended on Wednesday.

The JJB has forwarded the CBI’s application for fingerprints to the Observation Home, where the juvenile is presently lodged and asked his counsel to file the reply. The CBI has also filed a reply to the application moved by the juvenile’s father, accusing the investigating agency of questioning him beyond the 6 p.m deadline.

The JJB has fixed the hearing on both matters for November 29.

The juvenile’s counsel Sandeep Aneja said the CBI had filed a vague reply to their allegations of not sticking to the time limit, saying that the time limit was strictly adhered to.

Besides, the application of Barun Thakur, the father of the victim, moved through his counsel Sushil Tekriwal, seeking trial of the juvenile as an adult has been kept pending.
