Students seeking jobs stage rail roko between Dadar-Matunga in Mumbai

The students belonging to the All India Railway Act Apprenticeship Association are demanding jobs in the railways.

Hundreds of students on Tuesday staged a rail roko between Dadar and Matunga bringing all local and outstation trains to a halt.

Trains to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) were being short terminated at Kurla and were plying in Down direction, towards Kalyan, as special services.

Thousands of commuters alighted from the train and started walking on the tracks as a result of the disruption.

The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) has asked managers of nearby BEST depots to run extra buses in order to help commuters reach their destinations.
