India vs New Zealand: Virat Kohli snapped at a journalist who questioned his on-field behaviour during the 2-match Test series in New Zealand after the visitors were whitewashed 0-2.

India captain Virat Kohli’s on-field antics have created a stir after India were handed a 2-0 hammering in the New Zealand Tests on Monday.

Virat Kohli, who was at his usual charged up self during the 2-match Test series, was seen wildly celebrating and giving explosive send-offs to most New Zealand batsmen.

The India captain was also seen interacting with the crowd that constantly kept him engaged. In fact, Virat Kohli was seen coming up with an expletive-laden celebration after the wickets of Kane Williamson and Tom Latham during the 1st innings of the recently-concluded 2nd Test.

On Monday, a New Zealand journalist questioned Virat Kohli’s on-field behaviour, accusing him of swearing at Kane Williamson and a section of the crowd at Hagley Oval in Christchurch.Virat Kohli appeared to lose his cool after the question was posted and asked the journalist in question to ‘come up with better questions’.

“You need to find out exactly what happened and come up with better questions. You can’t come here with half questions or half details of what happened. And also, if you want to create controversy, this is not the right place. I had spoken to the match referee. He had no issues with what happened. Thank You,” Virat Kohli said.Reacting to the much-talked-about on-field behaviour of Virat Kohli, New Zealand fast bowler Tim Southee defended the India captain, saying he tries to bring the best of himself by being charged up on the field.

“He’s a very passionate guy… and very energetic in the field. He tries to bring out the best in himself,” Southee told Radio New Zealand while stressing the Test series was played in the competitive spirit.

Meanwhile, New Zealand captain Kane Williamson also defended Virat Kohli, saying he is a passionate cricketer and that the cricketer fraternity should not look too much into the issue.”It is Virat, and he is passionate on the field. I don’t think we need to read too much into it,” Williamson told PTI. India were hammered in both the Tests of the 2-match series by New Zealand who looked superior in all 3 departments.

Virat Kohli suffered his 1st-ever Test series whitewash as captain as India dropped points for the 1st time in the ongoing World Test Championship cycle.
