Three killed in bus-tractor collision in Tamil Nadu, 34 others injured
The private bus was proceeding to Vilathikulam from Virudhunagar when it hit the tractor coming from Tamilpadi
Three persons, including two polytechnic students, were crushed to death in a road accident involving a private bus and a tractor at Puliampatti here on Wednesday morning.
Thirty-four persons, including 16 women, were injured in the accident.
The police identified the deceased as S. Arun Kumar (19), Mariselvam (19) and R. Selvam (58), all from Palavanatham.
The private bus was proceeding to Vilathikulam from Virudhunagar when it hit the tractor coming from Tamilpadi at around 8.30 a.m.
In the impact of the accident, the rear wheels of the bus came off and the speeding bus fell to its side, the police said.
Three persons who were travelling on the foot board where crushed to death.
Twenty-eight passengers of the bus and six persons travelling in the tractor were injured.
The Aruppukottai Town Police are investigating.
