52 Yemeni war victims land in India for treatment

A group of 66 Yemeni nationals — 52 patients and 14 attendants — arrived in India on a special military aircraft earlier this week for medical treatment.

The patients are war victims who were injured in the on-going Houthi insurgency in the country.

The group arrived in India as part of the Fortis Healthcare Limited tie-up with the Office of the Military Attache – Embassy of UAE to facilitate advanced treatment of war victims from Yemen.

Since March, over 4,773 patients have died while another 8,272 people have been injured due to air strikes in Yemen, according to the United Nations.
