In April through August, India’s exports of goods increased 17% to $192 billion

3 September, New Delhi, India (ANI): According to Commerce Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam on Saturday, India’s merchandise exports increased by 17.1% year over year to $192 billion in the first five months of the current fiscal year.

Subrahmanyam noted during a news conference that “services exports have done quite well. Services exports from April to July totaled $95 billion, on pace to shatter all previous records this year.

“There are powerful winds all around the world. We are experiencing disruptions as a result of Russia and Ukraine. The high rates of inflation are well known to us. We are aware of the efforts that many central banks around the globe are taking, he added.

India’s exports are anticipated to exceed $750 billion in the current fiscal year, according to the Commerce Secretary. “Our exports are still growing, which is wonderful. According to a very thorough research done on a very cautious premise, Indian exports will surpass $750 billion this year, he said.

Inflation, according to Subrahmanyam, is a serious worry. “Inflation is currently our main issue. The RBI performs some lifting. Governments must carry out some,” he added.

Subrahmanyam stated, “In the 75th year of independence, we have the objective of $750 billion export target. (ANI)
