We have negotiated better deal in Rafale contract, says IAF Chief

Indian Air Force (IAF) Chief Birender Singh Dhanoa on Thursday said that there is no controversy on Rafale deal. Speaking to media persons, Dhanoa said,”There is no controversy.

What is the controversy I don’t understand? It is not overpriced. The government has negotiated a very good deal. ”I think we have negotiated a better deal in the Rafale contract than what we did in MMRCA (Medium Multi-Role Combat Aircraft),” Dhanoa said.

Earlier in the day, Rahul Gandhi had questioned about the Rafale deal. “Can you explain ‘Reliance’ on someone with nil experience in aerospace for Rafale deal? Self ‘Reliance’ is obviously a critical aspect of ‘Make in India’,” he had tweeted.

He also asked why questions are not being posed to Modi regarding the controversy around Amit Shah’s son Jay.

Congress has alleged that his company has witnessed a quantum jump in turnover since the Modi government came to power.

The BJP rubbished the allegation, claiming it was intended to “divert attention” as the party bigwigs faced the prospect of being questioned in the AgustaWestland VVIP chopper scandal.
