The PMs of India and Norway meet to discuss new climate funding measures.

The presidents spoke about bilateral and global topics of shared concern, including as plans to mobilise climate funding for renewable energy projects in underdeveloped nations.

Jonas Gahr Store, the prime minister of Norway, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke by phone on Friday to explore new climate financing measures and to evaluate bilateral relations.

The Norwegian prime minister, Jonas Gahr Store, and I discussed new measures in climate financing during our constructive phone call today, PM Modi stated in a tweet.

The presidents spoke about bilateral and global topics of shared concern, including as plans to mobilise climate funding for renewable energy projects in underdeveloped nations. In a statement released by the Ministry of Externl Affairs press releasem, PM Modi stressed the significance of securing equitable, timely, and sufficient climate finance for the developing countries. He also expressed appreciation for Store’s dedication to this cause.

The Task Force on Blue Economy’s several active bilateral cooperation projects were reviewed by the two leaders. The growing partnership between India and Norway in fields like green hydrogen, shipping, science, technology, and education was also praised.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store had private talks in Copenhagen, Denmark, earlier on the margins of the India-Nordic summit, which took place in May of this year.

“Boosting friendship with Norway. Prime Ministers @narendramodi and @jonasgahrstore meet in Copenhagen. They are taking stock of the whole range of bilateral relations between the two countries and measures to enhance developmental collaboration,” the Prime Minister’s Office wrote on Twitter.

In October, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Jonas Gahr Store on becoming Prime Minister of Norway and expressed his eagerness to collaborate closely with the latter’s new government to further improve India-Norway relations.

Norway’s new prime minister is Jonas Gahr Store, who is the leader of the Labour Party, which won the September elections.
